We are currently seeking candidates for the following position:Requisition Type: ContingentPosition Status: Full TimePosition Title: Lead Personnel Security SpecialistLocation: Washington, DCSecurity Clearance Level: Public TrustDuties and ResponsibilitiesThe Security and Emergency Management Staff supports security services for the EOUSA and USAO, including personnel and contractor security clearances, security for new construction, renovations, and emergency management.The Personnel Security Specialist will support EOUSA and 94 USAOs, overseeing approximately 13,000 employees, students, and contractors. Responsibilities include:
  • Oversee Personnel Security Specialists.
  • Review security packages for suitability and fitness determinations.
  • Assist with security clearance requests, waivers, eAPP issues, and related documentation.
  • Support administrative tasks related to personnel security.
  • Interpret data from security databases such as PIPS/CVS, NCIC.
  • Manage requests for security documents and initiate background investigations.
  • Handle sensitive investigative data securely, in compliance with DoD Manual 5200.02.
  • Prepare reports based on security data and investigations.
  • Assist in adjudicating background investigations, monitoring, reviewing, and making security recommendations.
  • Draft correspondence and reports for security reviews.
  • Manage security databases, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
  • Maintain security records and assist with special projects as needed.Knowledge and Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree with 10 years of relevant experience, or 15 years of experience without a degree, in personnel security involving National Security and Public Trust investigations.
