Job Description POSITION PURPOSE Full responsibility and
accountability for managing plant operations in a defined
territory. Consult with third party providers on all pertinent
operational issues critical to running daily operations including:
safety, 5s, quality, receiving, inspecting, repairing inventory,
shipping, and operational cost accountability. Partner with third
party providers to create a Quality Management System (QMS) within
their service center and identify and execute opportunities for
continuous improvement. MAJOR / KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES * Full
ownership for plant operations Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
within assigned Service Centers* Drive process improvement across
all aspects of the Service Center* Coordinate daily
cross-functional communications across the Supply Chain partners
driving tactical efficiencies* Ensures proper receiving and
shipping of CHEP equipment* Develop and foster a partnership with
the Third Parties managing the plant facilities to ensure
compliance to CHEP standards and SOP's* Manage Operations contract
compliance by third-party providers* Cooperatively identify and
drive safety & savings initiatives within Service Centers* Ensure
customer-centric focus on day to day operations to include, but not
limited to, quality and on-time performance* Represent CHEP
appropriately with the customers via multiple modes of
communication* Ensures successful implementation and continuation
of Quality Process Control Plan* Monitor and drive excellence in
Safety and Sanitation* Confirm compliance with CHEP SOP's to
maintain ISO compliance* Ensures lumber and repair materials meet
CHEP specifications* Ensures repair materials are used in
accordance to CHEP guidelines* Manage inventory reporting and
physical audit processes and ensure proper S&R usage* Track
Service Center expenditures through purchase orders, accruals and
payment (ensure proper / timely cost recognition) FACILITIES
OVERSIGHT: Hagerstown, MD and Martinsburg, WV (Territory customer
and supplier visits as necessary). AUTHORITY / DECISION MAKING *
Will manage our Third-Party provider relationships at each plant,
to meet CHEP operational requirements.* Will make recommendations
to Third Party based on plant performance and needs * Will manage
accessorial budget at each plant. (i.e. OT, special services,
equipment purchases) CHALLENGES * 40% day travel required.
Flexibility required on overnight travel.* Ability to work
independently.* Ability to function successfully in both warehouse
and corporate environments.* Flexibility required to address the
unexpected (i.e. travel to customer, assist colleagues)
QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business,
Operations OR equivalent significant related experience. EXPERIENCE
* 3-5 yrs.' operations experience* Strong influencing skills*
Demonstrated ability to develop and foster relationships across all
functions* Knowledge of and ability to execute within a LEAN Six
Sigma environment* Self-starter: Ability to work independently in a
remote location* Proven analytical and problem-solving skills*
Understanding of basic accounting principles* Excellent verbal and
written communication skills* Ability to quickly develop and
execute a plan amongst ever-changing priorities* Knowledge of
Microsoft office programs including MS Excel, MS Word, MS
PowerPoint or comparable programs SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Computer
System/Skill Requirements:* Microsoft office programs including
Excel, Word, PowerPoint or comparable programs* Strong computer
literacy* Ability to acquire working knowledge of CHEP specific
systems (SAP, Seibel, BW) LANGUAGES EnglishDesirable: Spanish
Preferred Education Bachelors - Operations ManagementPreferred
