Essential Job Functions:

Work from drawings, lists and other data or instructions to perform routine scheduled preventive maintenance operations such as oiling, greasing, filter changing and other similar duties on designated machines. Use specified oils and greases to lubricate indicated fittings and other points.

Assist higher graded maintenance personnel in all company areas and phases of their work as directed. Perform routine duties such as cleaning machinery and parts, obtaining and positioning materials and supplies, assisting in the disassembly and reassembly of machinery; perform routine welding for mechanical strength and other general helper duties following established practices or specific instructions.

Detect and report defective materials and faulty operations; refer questionable matters to proper supervision. Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Follow prescribed safety regulations.

Job Requirements/Working Conditions:

Work involves a wide range of hand and bench operations requiring skill and a working knowledge of machine tool and other equipment construction to diagnose and correct faulty operations on a regular or emergency basis, and where knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, finishes, gearing, adjustment and tolerances is necessary to insure satisfactory operations.

Education and/or Experience:

Education must be equivalent to high school diploma plus additional training at a technical trade school and/or equivalent experience in lieu of trade school. Read and interpret complex drawings and specifications; use advanced shop mathematics, tables and handbook formulas. One year experience in maintenance.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, shot correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situation to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
