Akkodis is seeking a Purchasing Assistant for a full-time opportunity with a a worldwide leader in the design and manufacturing of advanced analytical, test and measurement instrumentation for the energy, aerospace, power, research, medical and industrial markets! This is a HYBRID position in Herndon, VA, therefore candidates will need to be local. The Purchasing Assistant will perform purchasing and inventory activities as well as some forecasting analysis. Candidates should have 2-4 years of recent buyer/purchasing experience, and experience in Great Plains ERP is a plus. The requirements listed below are representative of the responsibilities, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position: Job Functions / Responsibilities: --- Maintains files and records --- Contributes to the coordination of operations regarding various matters, including assisting with the day-to-day tasks for procurement, warehousing and inventory --- Provides analyst support for variances, inventory and operations --- Serves as a back-up person on inventory transactions and tickets --- Assist with parts shortages given by contract manufacturers --- Assist buyer/planners across product lines with purchase orders as needed --- Assist in year-end preparation and activities --- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed --- Other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills: --- Minimum 2-4 years recent purchasing experience combined with knowledge of general accounting knowledge --- Effective written and verbal communication skills --- Strong time management and organizational skills --- Experience purchasing electronics & electronic assemblies is a plus --- Must be extremely responsive & action-oriented --- Take charge attitude required --- Good organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills --- Ability to prioritize and multi-task --- Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook --- Great Plains ERP software experience is a plus Desired Education/Training: --- Bachelors Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field or equivalent work experience If you are interested in this Purchasing Assistant opportunity, then please click APPLY NOW.
