DescriptionJob Description:More About the Role:Leidos currently
has an opening on the Navy Service Management, Integration and
Transport (SMIT) Contract for a Platform and Hybrid Datacenter
Domain Architect. This is an exciting opportunity to use your
experience and leadership skills to successfully execute the
mission of the Navy s largest IT services program: SMIT. Under the
SMIT Contract, the Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of
the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services,
network operations, network engineering, service desk, and data
transport. Ultimately, Leidos will support the Navy in unifying its
shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and
service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts
under one enterprise network. This position requires Engineering,
Operations Support, Management and extensive knowledge of compute,
storage, network, and hybrid datacenter/cloud capabilities.What
You'll Get to Do:---Applies Subject Matter Expertise (SME) and
thought leadership to develop Enterprise Services solutions for one
of the largest private Intranets in the world.---Leads the
development of solutions and strategies to execute the US Navy s
mission for the following areas: -Architecture, Engineering, and
Operations Support to SMIT PWS areas 3.3.1.5 - Storage Services,
3.3.2.8 - Virtualization Computing Services, 3.3.4 - Cloud
Computing Services, 3.3.5.2 - Datacenter Services, and 3.3.7 -
Enabling Activities.---Provides input to design and architecture of
Datacenter and hybrid Cloud capabilities including compute,
storage, datacenter network, and hybrid cloud
capabilities.---Influences development of solutions that impact
strategic project/program goals and desired business
results.---Leads and guides the work of other technical staff that
has significant impact on project results/outputs.---Supports
proposal process; leads technical solutioning for new requirements
and modifications to existing requirements.---Active participant in
the Network Transformation and Modernization (NTM) planning and
execution activities.---Develops solutions that are highly
innovative, and achieved through understanding of requirements,
research and integration of best practices.---Develops high-level
technical designs, products, and/or standards in support of the
strategy and operations of the Platform and Hybrid Datacenter
Domain area of expertise.---Communicates and collaborates with the
relevant Navy PEO Digital Portfolio Managers, Service Owners,
Assistant Program Managers-Engineering (APM-E), Lead Engineers,
Technical Leads, etc ---Coordinates and attends Agile sprint
meetings to help direct and assist the engineering team in solving
complex problems and fielding new capabilities for the Navy and
Marine Corps.---Works with commercial industry vendors, partner
labs, and Gov t labs to evaluate and test new and innovative
technologies that satisfy Navy requirements.---Conducts trade
studies, analyses of alternatives, develops high-level designs, and
supports the development of relevant artifacts.---Works with SMIT
Systems Engineering, Domain Engineers, Project Managers, and
Operations teams to field new technologies and
capabilities.---Validates and provides inputs and updates to the
Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) SysML model and responsible
for the Product Baseline for Platform and Hybrid Datacenter
solutions.---Directs and supports design reviews focused on
Enterprise Services and Identity solutions.---In close coordination
with the Chief Engineer and Chief Architect, identifies technology
and solution roadmaps to improve mission enterprise capabilities
resulting in increased contract growth and improved customer
satisfaction.---Defines/Creates Technology Roadmaps and
communicates architecture vision/solution/innovations to the SMIT
Team, customer and stakeholders.---Partners with the SMIT PMO team
in supporting: -Shaping and development of technical solutions.
-RFP responses. -White papers. -Understanding and participating in
the development of new business strategies and on-contract growth
opportunities i.e. as-a Service (aaS) offerings. -Assessing current
and future skillsets and technology needs.---Evaluates and
recommends technologies, tools, and processes to ensure successful
customer outcomes.---Provides technical guidance and leadership to
program team members; encourage innovative solutions to solve
complex customer problems.You'll Bring These
Qualifications:---Bachelor's degree preferred in STEM or relevant
field, or comparable experience with an additional 12 years or a
Master s degree with 10 years of overall related experience.
-Additional years of related work experience may be substituted for
a degree at the Hiring Manager's discretion.---Exceptional written
and oral technical communications and ability to convey complex
technical concepts to non-technical managers and
customers.---Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to
detail.---Currently possess and ability to maintain an active DoD
Secret security clearance.---DoD 8570.01 IAT Level III
Certification required prior to onboarding and must maintain
certification while supporting the SMIT Contract: CISSP or CASP
(See DoD 8570.01-M Appendix 3 for valid certifications) and a
qualifying vendor or technology certification such as Cisco CCNP
Datacenter, Microsoft Expert Level Certification(s): i.e. DevOps
Engineer Expert, Enterprise Administrator Expert, Azure Solutions
Architect Expert, or Power Platform Solution Architect, etc ---SME
knowledge: Datacenter technologies including, but not limited to
Compute, Storage, Network, Security, Datacenter facilities (power,
space, cooling), Hybrid Cloud, Operating Systems, aaS offerings,
Datacenter Infrastructure Management, and Datacenter design
principles.---Strong understanding and knowledge of datacenter and
hybrid cloud vendor/market offerings such as on-Amazon Web Services
Outpost, Microsoft Azure Stack, etc ---Datacenter tools,
automation, and management methodologies.---Experience
collaborating with other enterprise technologists both internal and
external to resolve complex technical issues.---Must be able to
access SIPRNet from an NMCI location on short notice (local
travel).---Ability to travel (local and long distance) 0-25%
including the possibility of OCONUS travel.These Qualifications
Would be Nice to Have:---Previous work experience providing support
to the NGEN-NMCI program is highly desired.---Microsoft Enterprise
Configuration Management experience.---Model Based Systems
Engineering (MBSE) and SysML experience; Cameo Systems
Modeler.---15-20+ years of IT experience in multiple technical
disciplines within DoD environment.---DevSecOps CI/CD
experience.---Ansible Tower/Automation experience.---ITIL and/or
Agile certifications and/or demonstrable experience.---Amazon Web
Services and/or Microsof Azure experience and
certifications.---Agile certifications or applicable experience.Pay
Range:Pay Range $113,100.00 - $174,000.00 - $234,900.00The Leidos
pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a
guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered
in extending an offer include (but are not limited to)
responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge,
skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with
market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other
law.
