**Technical Support Technician****Description****Akima Systems Engineering \(ASE\)** supports the Intelligence, DoD, and Science and Research communities with tools, domain knowledge, analyst teams and essential mission staffing services\. Thecallsare typicallyaccomplishedat the userworkstation location\. End user devicesrequiring support include, but are notlimited to, desktop/laptopcomputers, personal and network printers, scanners, Smartphonesand personal digital assistants \(PDAs\)\. The work is performed in an office and via telework\.Services required are as follows, but not limited to:+ Configure, testand install newPCsand laptops, printers, scanners, networkedcopier/printers, Smartphones, other mobile devices+ Install/managevariousdesktop/laptop operatingsystems andiOS devices+ Replaceand/orrepaircomputerandperipheralscomponentsas required+ Install, upgrade,andmaintain operating systemandapplication softwareforequipment+ Ensure the latest virus scanning software versions/updatesare installedandrunning+ Ensure that the latest security template software isinstalledand running+ Troubleshoot andresolve hardware issues thatcan be fixed in\-house+ Workwith thewarrantyserviceprovidersas required+ Perform hardware movesandchange tasks+ Create baselinecomputer imagesand managechanges tothe baseline images\.+ Deployment of software via scripting,SystemCenter Configuration Manager\(SCCM\),IBM Endpoint Manager\(IEM\) or other tools\.+ Serviceand repaircomputerand peripheralhardware\.+ Troubleshoot networkconnectivity issues\.+ Install andprovide troubleshooting supportfor scienceandGISapplications\.+ Provideend user technical assistanceandconsultation on desktopand laptophardwareand software\.+ Install andmanagehardwareand software for network backupof users'files\.+ Perform disposal ofcomputerequipment and media per policyandprocedures\.+ Assistand support the printing needs of users including changing paper/ink/toner/drumand performing maintenance on printersand large\-format plotters\. This includesnormalconsumer maintenance includingclearing paper jams, resetting devices,configuring settings,calling vendor support lines for troubleshooting\. Does not include higher level printerrepair thatisabove normal consumermaintenance+ Ensure latest approvedpatchesareapplied toPCs+ Performremediation procedures inresponse to security vulnerability reports:+ Patches+ Repair SystemCenter Configuration Manager\(SCCM\)clients+ RepairIBM Endpoint Manager\(IEM\)clients+ RepairDataatRest \(encryption\)onend users device+ Printand file serverconfigurationchan+ Manage file share structureand permissions forend user data+ MaintainPrint Driversand permissions on the printservers**Qualifications****Minimum Qualifications:**+ High school diploma and 1 years experience\.+ Knowledgeandexperience with Microsoft OperatingSystems\.+ Knowledgeandexperience with AppleOS\.+ Knowledgeandexperience with Linux Ubuntu\.+ Experienceand knowledgeconfiguring application serversand setups forWindowsservicesandexperiencesapplying CPU patches databasesandapplication servers\.+ Consistent with President Biden's Executive Order 14042, you must be able to meet all health requirements, including but not limited to, current and future vaccination requirements to infectious diseases such as COVID\-19\.
