Job Description:
TMG Construction Corporation has a deep commitment to training

and recognize team members. The primary responsibility of the
Training Specialist is to support TMG employees through LMS
management, meeting facilitation, record keeping, technical
writing, and instructional design support. As the Training
Specialist, you will be a valued member of the team driving the
culture of the TMG Way across the organization. This can be a
fast-paced, dynamic environment - you must demonstrate empathy, the
ability to prioritize, and keen multi-tasking in the face of
competing assignments without a degradation of work quality. This
role is full-time and reports to the Sr. Talent Development
Specialist.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive orientation for new hires, covering the
employee portal, TMG Safety First, stipend/tuition programs, TMG
University, and MPV Introduction.
- Ensure training materials, certifications, professional
credentials, CEUs, renewals, stipend/tuition programs and manuals
are up to date according to TMG guidelines, including managing the
Talent Development calendar, training schedules, hosting monthly
Lunch and Learn, Brown Bag, and cohort meetings.
- Manages the Learning Management System to track, run reports,
and monitor staff training progress and achievements.
- Proactively manages external training requirements and assists
team members with registrations.
- Creates effective training resources such as instructional
guides, demonstration videos, and ad hoc training resources to
support the dissemination and comprehension of construction,
project management, and financial knowledge.
- Interviews Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), usually PMs and
Superintendents, to identify required information/data to develop
or revise proprietary training.
- Performs technical writing with the support of a subject matter
expert (SME).
- Proofreads and edits documents written by others, such as
manuals, policies and procedures, training content, edits for
understanding, readability, grammar, consistency, etc.
- Writes blog posts and manages updates to the corporate
intranet.
- Research new business opportunities/sources of training via the
Internet, emails, and phone calls, and maintain tracking
logs/spreadsheets.
- Undertakes additional tasks as directed by the Sr. Talent
Development Specialist or HR Director.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrate expertise in multiple training delivery methods,
including instructor-led Training, eLearning, experiential
learning, and Virtual Instructor-led Training.
- Possess a strong understanding of interactive learning
technology, with proficiency in design tools and technologies,
particularly Adobe Captivate.
- Have a solid grasp of SCROM and Section 508 compliance
standards for digital learning content.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and internal staff on
training and micro-video design and development.
- Design and host instructional monthly Lunch and Learn webinars
and cohort meetings, adhering to adult learning principles,
including developing learning objectives, assessments, activities,
case studies, job aids, and reference materials.
- Utilize the company Intranet (Wiki) pages and Teams to enhance
information flow, policies, documents, briefings, and other work
products.
- Demonstrated ability to develop instructionally sound eLearning
training materials.
- Thrive in a team setting and able to use strong communication
skills.
- Possess outstanding interpersonal abilities, including a knack
for working well with others, superior telephone etiquette, active
listening, and a focus on Customer satisfaction.
- Adapt to a fast-paced dynamic work environment, handling
shifting priorities with ease.
- Innovative in creating digital learning experiences and
infographics, with a talent for quickly resolving and effectively
managing SharePoint/Wiki sites and document libraries.
- Works to meet deadlines and is driven to closure.
- Prioritize and re-prioritize tasks as needed with strong
time-management skills.
- Thirst for knowledge, facts, details, and accuracy.
- Possesses a "Do whatever it takes" attitude.
- Embraces life-long learning, strives to stay current with new
industry trends and practices, and willingly participates in
industry events and networking functions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (English, Education,
Business Administration, Communication).
- Minimum of two (2) years of direct experience in a training
role and working with adult learners.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience with technical writing
and the ability to demonstrate your experience.
- Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, MS
Teams, and digital meeting platforms.
- EasyGenerator, Canva, or Well said skills are a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding basic construction terminology and processes is a
plus.
- Attention to detail and advanced organizational skills
required.
