HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Provide implementation advice for system security architecture, design, and cryptographic services.
• Provide system security engineering expertise and system security guidance.
• Assist teams in understanding and addressing system security issues identified during the assessment process.
• Investigate new technologies and products. The Contractor shall focus on the systems engineering/cyber security engineering related tasks.
• Communicate with team leads and senior leadership, assess changes, and rapidly change direction in support of new and/or changing program requirements.
  
  WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
  
  • Education: Bachelors (Computer engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information systems, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a closely related discipline)
  • Required Experience: 5+ yrs
  • Required Technical Skills:
  • Demonstrated hands-on (not policy) experience in two (2) or more of the following areas: Network, host, cloud, data, or application security in multiple operating system environments.
  • Demonstrated hands-on (not policy) experience working with IP networking, networking protocols and understanding of security related technologies including encryption, IPsec, PKI, VPNs, firewalls, proxy services, DNS, electronic mail and access lists.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Internet, web, application, and network security techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience developing documentation to meet security requirements and guidance.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience creating test plans and conducting evaluations and/or prototyping.
  • Ability to identify new technologies and assess their technical and performance characteristics.
  • Ability to create complex system designs, resolves engineering problems, and proposes preventive strategies.
  • Ability to write technical documents addressing complex, sensitive issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Five years of demonstrated knowledge and technical skills in: network architecture; configuration of a local area network (LAN); securing of operating systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze Information System (IS) test results and suggest compensating controls for meeting IS security requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor's policies, directives, and standards
  • Desired Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience working with relevant operating system security (Windows, Solaris, Linux, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience with Cross Domain Solutions that transfer data between networks operating at different classification levels.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) architecture and other cloud computing environments.
  • Eight years of experience with hardening Microsoft Windows Server, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Apple/MAC OS, Unix/Linux systems, and virtualization software (VMware, Hyper-V, Virtual Box).
  • Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI with active polygraph
  • Desired Certifications: Cyber security certification in one or more of the following: Security+, SSCP, CAP, CISM, CASP+, PenTest+, CISSP, GSEC, GCCC, GCWN, GMON, GSLC, CEH, CNDA, CSSLP, CISSP, CEH, AWS
