professional lives. Position Summary: The role of Scientist I in
the Research group is to support small molecule and biological drug
discovery programs from target identification through IND filing.
This role entails design, planning, execution and interpretation of
in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo pharmacology studies through
internal or external resources to support drug discovery programs.
A strong background in fibrosis, autoimmune and/or rare diseases
are highly desirable. The candidate will support one or more drug
discovery projects and participate in the evaluation of new
targets. The candidate must have strong written and oral
communication skills, be self-motivated, innovative, a team player,
and must be able to work independently.Position RequirementsSupport
drug discovery programs targeting pathways related to autoimmunity/
inflammation/fibrosis/rare diseasesDesign, develop and execute
biochemical assays, biophysical assay, pharmacodynamic assays and
functional assays through internal resources or CROsDesign in vivo
pharmacology studies and manage their prosecution in CROs to
support discovery programGenerate and analyze experimental data;
troubleshoot efficiently, prepare written reports and impactful
presentationsComfortable working in a fast-paced cross-functional
environmentWork effectively in collaboration with other functions
such as translational science, clinical development and business
developmentContribute to evaluation of business development
opportunitiesPresent scientific data in internal and external
meetingsQualifications and Skills Required:Bachelor with 5+ years
of industry experienceExpertise in biochemical, biophysical and/or
cellular assay development, optimization, and productionExpertise
in primary cell culture and spatial biology
transcriptomics/proteomics are highly desirablePerform lab work
independentlyExcellent organizational and record keeping
skillsOutstanding communication and presentation skillsStrong
