Job Description:
LinQuest is seeking the immediate hire of an on-location Data
Science and machine learning analyst to join our LinQuest
Innovation Center (LINC) in Herndon, Virginia. We are looking for
an individual who thrives on learning and implementing
state-of-the-art processes across the field of data science,
including machine learning and artificial intelligence research at
large. Immediate projects will include contributions to multiple
business intelligence ETL processes that include text parsing, NLP,
and broad ML applications, the development of an expanding MLOps
platform, and the application of reinforcement learning to problems
in resiliency. Most typically, this data scientist will work with a
team of machine learning experts, back-end/cloud developers, and
UI/UX designers as they define and implement solutions. We seek an
experienced colleague who can additionally directly support local
customers in the DC metro area.

to our DoD customers for critically important National Security
space programs, systems, and vehicles, including spacecraft. This

Responsibilities
* Contribute to an ELT pipeline with proper data cleaning and
entity resolution processes.
* Use various Python packages, including Hugging Face transformers,
TensorFlow/PyTorch, and spaCy, to implement solutions to a diverse
set of problems.
* Implement reinforcement learning solutions within a Python
environment.
* Develop within a test-based Git code repository and contribute to
internally published modules.
* Use Python code to parse unstructured data into structured
data.
* Create effective data visualizations to communicate patterns in
data, explainability and performance in models, and to understand
model outputs.
* Stay up to date with trends in data science and machine learning,
and connect those trends to our customers' needs as well as
LinQuest's developing capabilities.
* Work collaboratively within teams consisting of subject matter
experts, software engineers, security specialists, and UI/UX
designers to implement solutions.
Required Skills:
Ideal candidates will have the following foundational qualities and
traits:
* Experience in Python (preferred) or R, including Hugging Face
transformers, spaCy entity recognition, and PyTorch/Tensor Flow
neural network implementation. Experience with a wide variety of
model architectures and model applications is preferred.
* Exposure to software development within an agile environment
supported by Git repositories.
* Experience in supporting DoD/IC Customers, or substantial related
experience.
* Demonstrated expertise in the mathematical/statistical
underpinnings of machine learning and data analytics.
* Independence of thought and action paired with a passion for
collaboration and shared ideas.
* Comfort in writing proposals and giving technical
presentations.
* A desire to work on multiple projects and teams, rather than
focus on a single customer.
Required Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, data
analytics, mathematics, or a related field with significant
experience or coursework in data science, data analytics, and
machine learning.
* 5+ Years of Experience with a PhD or Masters OR Bachelors Degree
with 7 years of professional experience performing work related to
the skills enumerated above. More experience is preferred.
* Past performance in modeling and simulation or other model
development environments, or in DevOps environments, is not
required, would be advantageous.
* Experience or activities that demonstrate creative independence
and a passion for learning and collaboration are preferred.
* Active TS/SCI Clearance is Required for this position
Desired:
* A master's degree or PhD is preferred
