The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for
assisting with the planning, coordination, and execution of a
maintenance program for a golf course. Supervision of golf course
maintenance workers is required. Work is performed under the
general direction of the Golf Course Maintenance Superintendent
with moderate latitude for independent judgment and action within
guidelines provided by the Golf Course Maintenance Superintendent.
Annual performance goals will be set for the Assistant Golf Course
Hiring Salary Range: $48,306.99 - $60,922.84
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assist with management of personnel:
Plan, direct, and control day to day work schedules of maintenance
employees in the care and maintenance of golf course grounds and
golf course maintenance equipment, including quality control.
Determine workload, assign priorities, schedule employees, and

Interpret and apply NOVA Parks' policies and procedures to meet
personnel, budget, property management, and general services needs
of the golf course.
Monitor maintenance budget to ensure sound fiscal management.
Authorize procurement of required materials, equipment, parts

Develop short- and long-term goals and recommend maintenance
objectives, strategies and implementation plans.
Assist with the management of equipment inventory and maintenance
through web based maintenance software.
Investigate accidents, theft, and vandalism and file appropriate
reports in a timely manner.

administrative reports and records.

Education: Graduation from two year college with Associates Degree
in turf management, agronomy, or closely related field
Physical: Manual work with strength and dexterity necessary to
perform all required tasks, including lifting, stooping, bending
and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions in outdoor and
maintenance shop settings; will perform heavy manual labor in all
weather conditions; lift and move items equal to or greater than 80
pounds; climb ladders; use hand tools and operate mechanical
equipment.Experience: Five years of experience in golf course
maintenance work; or any equivalent combination of education,
training, or experience which provides:
