*Classification: Full Time, Salaried, Exempt (11 month)*

*Reports to: Dean of Residential Life/Assistant Head of School*

Job Summary:

The Assistant to the Dean of Residential Life works with the Dean of Residential Life to support all aspects of the residential life experience. This position will work collaboratively with the Office of Student Life, dorm parents, housekeeping, maintenance, faculty, staff and students, to support the Residential Life program.

Key Responsibilities:

The Residential Life Dorm Coordinator works with the Office of Student Life to promote a safe, engaging and inclusive residential community. This position is also a visible presence in the dorms.

--- Assist the Dean of Residential Life with planning and coordinating weekend activities, including preparing materials prior to weekends.

--- Manage Orah passes for student entry and exit from campus.

--- Help implement dorm programming and curriculum under the guidance of the Deans.

--- Conduct weekly room inspections.

--- Coordinate, order, and/or pick up all supplies related to dorms, dorm parties, special dorm events, and weekend activities to support lead dorm parents.

--- Assist the Dean of Residential Life with projects such as dorm selection and rooming assignments; selection, training, and support of student dorm leaders.

--- Assist the Dean of Residential Life with the opening and closing of the dorms at the start and end of the year and at breaks.

--- Provide transportation as needed for Student Life, the Health Center and Service Learning.

--- Serve on the Residential Life team as a Dorm Parent, including weekly evening dorm duty and 5 weekends of duty.

--- The Coordinator may be asked to sponsor one or more school clubs.

--- A bachelor's degree.

--- Experience working at a boarding school, a college residential life office or summer camp is required.

--- Diversity and Inclusion training and experience working within a global community is preferred.

--- Strong organizationaland problem-solving skills, with an attention to detail, and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects and work under deadlines.

--- Takes initiative and anticipates needs.

--- Strong interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, and an ability to build relationships with multiple constituencies and work well with parents and students.

--- Professionalism

--- High degree of discretion and confidentiality must be held.

--- Experience with Orah (formerly Boardingware) preferred.

--- Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with established policies and regulations.

--- Valid drivers license and clean driving record required.

While performing the duties of this position an incumbent is required to regularly remain sedentary for long periods of time in meetings and while processing information and paper work both manually and on a computer.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. Additionally, the incumbent must be able to converse in clear English both written and orally, over a telephone and in person. The employee is regularly required to listen, physically direct, and speak.

Occasionally, an incumbent may be required to lift up to 25 pounds, traverse uneven terrain and climb stairs while moving about campus, bend and stoop. Work hours may vary and include days, nights, and weekends. Employees may be required to drive a vehicle for student needs and/or on School business. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
