communications practice area for a multi-faceted communications
specialist to join an interdisciplinary team of graphic designers,
copy editors, web developers, video editors, training developers,
and social media specialists.
This position would be ideal for a candidate with three years
progressive experience either in work, independent, academic, or
volunteer experience creating short- to medium-size video projects
that included defining a script, video recording/editing, audio
processing, and production. This could include developing videos in
documentary, animation, vlogs, or mixed-media formats. Valued
skills include an ability to work collaboratively in a team,
independently able to execute tasks and activities, and strong
written and verbal communication. Where needed, additional
on-the-job training will be available.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development and
dissemination of communications materials in line with their skills
and experience working within a multi-disciplinary creative team.
The successful candidate will report to the Senior Communications
Specialist and will be responsible for general communications
across a variety of projects. The candidate should have a high
attention to detail, good task management skills, the ability to
work on multiple projects and meet tight deadlines, work well in a
team environment, and be adaptable to change.
Cloudburst creates an array of videos including
instructional/training videos, talking head instructional videos,
e-tutorials (i.e. systems navigation instructions), and animated
informative videos. The ideal candidate will successfully
contribute to some or all of these kinds of projects.
Responsibilities Brainstorming and contributing to storyboard and
script development for client and/or internal projects.
Assembling raw footage and leading file management.
Following a script, outline, or storyboard.
Inputting sound to enhance footage, which may include selecting
music and writing voice-overs.
Inputting graphics to enhance footage.
Digitally splicing film and video and synchronizing them into one
Improving and correcting lighting, coloring, and faulty
Enhancing and correcting sound quality with tools such as
de-essing, de-reverb, etc.
Recording video and audio in the field or via online tools or
assisting and advising colleagues on best practices to record video
Working closely with project teams to present a final product that
matches client outcomes in line with client video production
Contributing flexibility to support a large portfolio of written,
web, and creative communication products for U.S.-government funded
projects in the United States and around the globe.

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of experience in
film and media production, cinematography, fine arts, digital film
and video production, or a related degree.
Demonstrated experience with and skill in video editing and
animation (Premiere Pro and After Effects), and potentially
experience with animation tools such as Vyond, whiteboard
animation, etc., if needed for animation.
Familiar with the communications landscape and ability to recommend
tools and techniques to meet client goals.
Familiarity with and experience in writing, editing, and production
across communications media.
Excellent organizational skills to sort and structure content,
projects, logistics, and budgeting.
Demonstrated appropriate interpersonal and communication skills for
an effective team environment, including patience and a sense of
Proficient in Microsoft Office and online communications tools
including Zoom, etc.
Able to juggle work on multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a
Self-starter able to work with a highly collaborative team and
adapt to an ever-changing environment.
Familiarity with instructional design / learning management tools
such as SCORM, Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or Lectora
Publisher preferred, but not required.
