• AppDynamics/Dynatrace Systems Engineer Senior
• Implement best in class engineering strategies to support a large distributed clustered AppDynamics, Dynatrace and Splunk environment consisting of Search Heads, Indexers, Forwarders, Splunk Enterprise Security (ES) app spanning security, performance, engineering, and operational roles.
• The candidate will build and operate automation tools, services single-pane-of-glass dashboards that directly impact the productivity of our client's organization and production platforms.
• We are looking for Engineer who not only understands the fundamentals of designing scalable platforms, but also have a passion for architecting, building, and evangelizing infrastructure solutions.
• Be the engineering voice in helping recognize and onboard new data sources into AppDynamics and Splunk along with other monitoring tools, analyze data for anomalies and trends, and build dashboards highlighting the key trends of the data.
• Develop solutions for profiling, monitoring, reporting, and testing on the platform.
• Monitor the responsiveness and availability of critical websites and web applications from the end-user perspective.
• Manage application availability and performance and proactively find performance bottlenecks.
• Enable the integration of Splunk Core, Splunk ITSI, Dynatrace and AppDynamics development of the single pane of glass dashboard, including integration with ServiceNow ITSM.
• Designs, develops, tests, debugs, and implements operating systems components, software tools and utilities.
• Determines systems software design requirements
• Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.
• Generates systems software engineering policies, standards, and procedures
• Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions
• Requires conceptual and practical expertise in own area and general knowledge of related areas
• Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate the company in the market
• Acts as a resource for other team members; may lead projects with limited risks and resource requirements
• Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policies
• Explains complex, difficult and/or sensitive information; works to build consensus
• Basic Qualifications:
  
  • Experience with Windows and Linux OSes, services, daemons, containers, and VMs
  • Experience with troubleshooting and identifying root cause issues
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with application teams to modernize applications where appropriate and support cloud integration efforts with AppDynamics
  • Knowledge of fundamental data structures, algorithms, and other computer science basics
  • BA or BS degree in CS, IT, or Engineering and 8+ years of experience with systems engineering OR HS diploma or GED and 18+ years of experience with systems engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in a professional environment
  • 5+ years of experience in an AppDynamics or Dynatrace engineering role
  • Experience in data engineering with AppDynamics for both ingestion and extraction
  • Experience with maintaining AppDynamics and its underlying infrastructurePreferred Qualifications:

        • Must be able to remain in stationary position for up to 50% of the time.
        • Must be able to move about inside the office or IT environment to access computer systems, modules, equipment, and IT machinery.
        • Must be able to constantly operate computers and other IT environment systems such as IT machinery, modules, etc.
        • Must be able to position self to maintain computer systems both at lower height levels and upper height levels as needed and required.
        • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
        • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
        • The person in this position must be able to detect, identify, and judge audible alarms.
