Learn more about 9th Way Insignia at .Team (Project) IntroductionThis position supports the Department of Veterans Affairs' Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). The team is composed of Oracle experts including architects, administrators, and developers, working in partnership with Oracle Commercial Professional Services. Together, they assess the current environment, provide system metrics and documentation, and implement approved recommendations to optimize the EDW platform and support future cloud migration. The Senior Developer reports to the Project Manager and receives technical guidance from the Senior Database Architect while mentoring junior developers.Professional Level InformationThe Senior Developer position aligns as Level 2 Engineer at 9th Way Insignia. An Engineer 2 performs engineering-related tasks with limited supervision, brings broad technical knowledge and problem-solving capability, and contributes to the resolution of complex engineering challenges.Responsibilities

• Lead the development and enhancement of Oracle-based ETL processes and scripts supporting data integration and BI reporting.
• Work with Oracle tools such as OBIEE, GoldenGate, and APEX, delivering optimized code aligned with project standards.
• Implement performance tuning recommendations and assist in validating their effectiveness.
• Troubleshoot complex development issues and support integration with other EDW components.
• Mentor junior developers, reviewing code, providing feedback, and supporting skill development.
• Maintain documentation for technical processes, system updates, and development standards.
• Support quality assurance activities including peer reviews, testing, and validation.
• Collaborate with Oracle Commercial Services, project leadership, and stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of technical recommendations.
• Other duties as assigned.Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering or technical discipline.
• An additional 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree.
• 7 years of relevant experience in software development, with emphasis on Oracle environments.
• Strong skills in SQL and PL/SQL development.
• Experience using OBIEE, GoldenGate, APEX, and related Oracle tools.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative engineering team.
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Tier 2/Moderate clearance. Existing clearances are preferred.
• Must be available to work onsite 8 hours a day, Monday through Friday at 1800 G Street NW, Washington, DC.
• Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Professional or similar certification.LocationThis position is onsite at 1800 G Street NW, Washington, DC.
