Job Description:

ActioNet is seeking a Senior API Developer for an immediate, REMOTE opportunity with occasional travel (10%) to the Washington, D.C. area. This role requires U.S. citizenship to be eligible for federal government security clearance.We are looking for an API Developer with a strong foundation in cloud technologies and a passion for growth. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in API development, preferably supporting government projects. • Design, develop, and deploy scalable, secure APIs using languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Create high-quality API documentation and testing scripts for seamless system integration
• Work with data engineers and scientists to integrate APIs with data pipelines and analytics platforms
• Troubleshoot and optimize API performance in production
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in API development
• Participate in code reviews and promote coding standards and best practicesMinimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of experience in API development
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, design principles, and security practices
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or Node.js; familiarity with other languages like C++ or Ruby is a plus
• Experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Flask, or Express.js
• Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
• Excellent communication and teamwork skillsPreferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions)
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD)
  • Understanding of agile methodologies and version control systems (GitHub, Bitbucket)
