LinQuest is seeking the immediate hire of an on-location Senior
Software Systems Engineer to join our LinQuest Innovation Center
(LINC) in Herndon, Virginia. The LINC's charter is to develop and
pursue innovative technology solutions that will enhance, improve,
or disrupt current ways of doing business enabling a more effective
and efficient solution to support LinQuest and our customers
mission objectives. The LINC is responsible for building and
maintaining LinQuest's corporate technology roadmap, leading and
managing LinQuest's IRAD portfolio, and providing technical support
to organic and new business growth opportunities. As a Senior
Software Systems Engineer, you will lead systems engineering
activities in support of multiple agile software development
projects. This role includes both hands on engineering as well as
leading other engineers in support of direct and IRAD projects.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience supporting
agile programs for the DoD/IC, have deep knowledge of software
architectures and systems engineering techniques, and leadership
experience.
As a Senior Software Systems Engineer you will lead Systems
Engineering activities as a member of an agile team with
responsibility for defining, tracking, testing and validation of
requirements and defining the criteria for successful delivery of
software products. You will apply modern systems engineering
techniques and tools to assist in the development of
state-of-the-art solutions for challenging problems for national
security space.

Responsibilities
Apply innovative Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches
to Software Acquisition and Development. Planning, implementing,
and leading test-driven development activities, and performing
configuration management of related products and activities.
Review proposed hardware/software implementations that would
satisfy program requirements and provide feedback to the
customer
Develop and review models and conduct analysis in support of
development and flow-down of requirements
Assess proposed baseline changes for impacts to requirements and
verification.
Support the customer with verification tracking to ensure the
developer and source requirements are adequately verified
Ensure effective requirements integration across space and ground,
hardware and software, and all other aspects of systems and
organizations within the Enterprise
Integrate activities over the lifecycle of systems within the
Enterprise including pre-contractual, development and production,
as well as operations and sustainment
Develop acquisition and technical requirements-related briefings,
plans, papers, and other documentation for Program Management
Reviews.
Collaborate with prime contractors, other support contractors,
government civilians, and members of the government PMO
Skills:
Ideal candidates will have the following foundational qualities and
traits:
Exceptional Technical Writing Skills
Experience with a wide variety of software architectures and
applications is preferred.
Experience with software development projects within an agile
environment.
Experience supporting DoD/IC Customers, or substantial related
experience.
Independence of thought and action paired with a passion for
collaboration and shared ideas.
Comfort in writing proposals and giving technical
presentations.
A desire to work on multiple projects and teams, rather than focus
on a single customer.
Ability to work independently and with team members from different
backgrounds
Identifies new technologies and determines how and when they should
be implemented
Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Systems Engineering or an
undergraduate degree in a STEM area with relevant experience.
6+ years of professional experience performing work related to the
skills enumerated above. More experience is preferred
3+ years' experience with Agile/SAFe/Lean development of software
for military systems using DevSecOps, including related SE and PM
tools and techniques.
Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance
Experience or activities that demonstrate creative independence and
a passion for learning and collaboration are preferred.
Background in software program management, software team lead,
scrum master, Agile coach, or engineering/project manager
Documented DoD Agile software development experience, i.e., DAU
certifications.
Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines and PM tools and techniques
operated within a cloud-based environment.
Experience with DoDAF-compliant architectures, system requirements
analysis, requirements trace management (including DOOR/DNG or
other related tool experience), and MBE/MBSE (including familiarity
with related tools such as CAMEO and modeling languages such as
SysML).
