Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director, Technical Operations Project Management, the Senior Manager provides Project Management expertise as a member of the Technical Operations Project Management Team.

The position holder is the Project Manager for local and global cross-functional teams supporting the development and commercial products. The role is key to fostering communication and coordination between functional groups, ensuring the successful completion of project deliverables on schedule and within budget.

The Project Manager plans and executes product-specific projects and business process improvement initiatives that are in line with Horizon Therapeutics strategic goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide cross-functional support during the transition of projects from discovery to early-stage and early-stage to late-stage development
  • Act, in collaboration with technical leads, as Technical Operations representative to Asset Teams assembling content and contributing to governance decisions associated with assigned projects
  • Project Manager supporting the rollout of Project Management tools and reporting templates within the Technical Operations organization
    • Manage project activities to ensure project completion within scope, on schedule, and within budget
    • Create and maintain consistent project documentation, tracking, and reporting, for assigned projects, including:
      • Charters and dashboards
      • Project plans, scope, and change
      • Project budgets and budgeting process
      • Legal contracts and project-specific work orders and amendments
      • Risk identification, mitigation, contingency planning, and management of issue escalation to Senior Management
      • Facilitate team meetings including setting agenda, providing meeting minutes, and driving action to follow up
      • Ensure team conflicts are resolved in a professional and timely manner
      • Participate in identifying and implementing improvements to project management processes, tools, and infrastructure

        Qualifications and Skills Required:
        • Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering
        • Minimum 3 years' experience in the Pharma or Biotech Industry with experience in Project Management, including independently managing or leading cross functional teams
        • Ad hoc travel in Europe and in the US will be required as part of this role
        • Proven track record of success in Project Management within Pharmaceutical Development and/or Technical Operations experience essential
        • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects including work plans, timelines, budgets, and action item follow up in a global, cross-functional team setting
        • Experience in manufacturing/development of biologics drug substances and drug products would be a plus
        • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities under tight deadlines
        • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
        • Strong written and verbal communication skills
        • Proficiency with MS Office (e.g. Project, Visio, Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook)
