generation systems. GA-EMS' expanding portfolio of specialized

and process and monitoring applications for defense, industrial,

We have an exciting opportunity for a Software Developer/Engineer
within the Tiger Innovations team which is part of our
Electromagnetic Systems group. The position would be located in
Herndon, VA. The Tiger Innovations team provides innovative,
cutting-edge, security solutions for the United States Government.
Our employees provide a multi-disciplinary, sometimes
non-traditional, approach to generate innovative solutions to
incredibly challenging technical problems in the national security
arena. Our areas of expertise are in spacecraft payload and system
development (especially in the confines of implementing very large
amounts of functionality in extremely small, power-constrained
environments); unique system development; ground control and
operational software development; embedded software development;
and unique cyber capabilities. Key customers include the Department
of Defense and the Intelligence Community.
Under general supervision and with on-going review, this position
supports the engineering staff in the analysis, investigation and
resolution of routine engineering problems of limited scope.
Assignments are for small projects or phase(s) of larger
projects(s) and are normally outlined in terms of specific
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Significant focus on developing embedded software code for
spacecraft bus avionics, spacecraft payloads, and ground support
equipment. Includes development of special utilities for support
development on deeply embedded systems.
- Contributes to the completion of assigned engineering tasks
which involve the exercise of independent judgment and discretion
about matters of significance.
- Documents findings and implemented solutions, and communicates
results to project engineering staff.
- Contacts are primarily internal within the team. May provide
direction to design staff or technicians.
- Applies basic technical knowledge to analyze, investigate and
resolve assigned routine engineering problems.
- Performs functional testing of equipment and systems by
utilizing standard engineering and scientific principles.
- Obtains and analyzes test data.
- Develops appropriate documentation of findings and implemented
solutions, and communicates results to project engineering staff.
May be required to make technical presentations to project
