The attorney, based on the campus of George Mason University in Fairfax, will serve the Attorney General under the direction of the Chief of the Education Section and the University Counsel, and will provide representation and a wide variety of legal services to the University. George Mason University is Virginia’s largest public research university, with over 39,000 students on three campuses in Virginia and one in Korea. Minimum Qualifications Successful candidate will have excellent analytical abilities and written and oral communication skills and be able to respond to legal requests in a timely fashion. A minimum of five years of experience in the general practice of law is required. Preference will be given to applicants with specific experience in the representation higher education institutions. Excellent interpersonal skills are also required. High level organizational skills and an ability to manage many projects simultaneously and work under pressure are required. Additional Considerations Must be admitted to the Virginia bar or eligible for immediate admission. Admission to the Virginia Bar is required before beginning employment.
