Job Description:
MedStar Health, a leading non-profit healthcare provider in the
D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region, is seeking a dedicated Perinatal
Nurse Navigator (RN) to join our vibrant team. This role is pivotal
in providing comprehensive guidance and support to expectant
mothers throughout their pregnancy journey. The Nurse Navigator
will act as a liaison between patients and various healthcare
providers, ensuring personalized and seamless care. This position
requires a compassionate professional who thrives in a
multidisciplinary team and is committed to fostering a supportive
environment for every patient. Provide individualized case
management for expectant mothers from prenatal to postpartum care.
Educate patients on pregnancy processes, childcare, and available
resources. Coordinate with healthcare providers, including
obstetricians, pediatricians, and specialists, to ensure
comprehensive care. Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans
as necessary. Facilitate support groups and educational workshops
for expectant mothers. Assist in navigating health insurance
processes and understanding patient rights. Strong interpersonal
and communication skills In-depth knowledge of perinatal care
practices Proficiency in patient education and advocacy Ability to
work effectively in a multidisciplinary team Strong organizational
and problem-solving skills Medical Insurance Dental Insurance
Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Valid Registered Nurse (RN)
license in the state of Maryland or eligible for reciprocity.
Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) or similar is
preferred.
