Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: GI Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Active VA license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Experience with Epic charting system preferred - Community hospital experience preferred - Travel experience preferred Description: The Registered Nurse will work in a gastrointestinal lab. The position involves both preoperative and postoperative care. Responsibilities include patient assessment and monitoring vital signs. The nurse will perform IV insertions and assess patients in the preoperative phase. In the postoperative phase, the nurse will monitor vital signs and recovery criteria. The usual procedures include EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, and EUS. The majority of the work will be in an outpatient setting with care for some inpatients. The nurse should be familiar with working in a multidisciplinary team. Flexibility to work with diverse patient diagnoses is essential. Additional responsibilities may include patient education and discharge instructions. Candidates should be detail-oriented and able to communicate effectively with patients and team members. This role may require working some holidays, depending on scheduling needs. Travelers must adhere to compliance and facility-specific policies.
