Job Title: RN: Psych Location: Staunton, VA Setting: State Psych Facility - PEDS Pay Range: $2800 - $3000 weekly gross Schedule: 12-Hour Nights, 36/48 weekly rotation, every other weekend, holidays as needed. Responsibilities As a healthcare professional in an Adult Mental Health facility, you’ll play a critical role in serving a unique and often underserved patient population. Your care will directly impact patient safety, wellness, and rehabilitation. A few of the responsibilities include: - Effective communication both verbal & written. Ability to participate in an interdisciplinary team. - Ability to lead educational groups. - Ability to assess, plan, implement, & evaluate patient care utilizing knowledge of pharmacology, psychiatric disorders, AND physical, psychological, & social needs of the psychiatric adolescent or child. - Competent with TOVA, CPR and knowledge of lab values for children & adolescents. - Basic computer skills. - Ability to apply knowledge to meet child & adolescent needs in an inpatient psychiatric setting. - Act as a resource person to communicate knowledge of the nursing process to other disciplines, community groups, & schools of nursing. - Walking and/or standing for up to eight (8) hours or more. Bending & lifting. - Ability to use TOVA techniques.
