SUMMARY The Environmental, Health & Safety Intern assists the EHS Coordinator in achieving compliance with government regulations as they pertain to Health, Safety, and the Environment, while gaining hands on experiencing with the field. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with updating and standardizing EHS programs
  • Support a zero incident EHS culture throughout the facility
    • Perform risk assessments on standard production tasks and recommend countermeasures
      • Participate in audits and evaluations for EHS Compliance
        • Participate in the safety committee to drive continuous improvement
          • Special projects as identified by the EHS Coordinator and Plant ManagerEducation and Experience Requirements
            • Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree is required, preferably with a concentration in Occupational Health, Environmental Health & Safety, or other related majors.
            • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to develop and facilitate presentations that are tailored to an audience
            • Intermediate level proficiency with computers and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)WORK ENVIRONMENT: Majority of time is in a general office environment, but frequent time will also be spent in a manufacturing production environment where personal protective safety equipment must be worn, and proper safety precautions must be observed. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to work in a typical manufacturing facility and travel domestically to other facilities which could entail walking, climbing and moving around working equipment. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required to be worn during shift, when in production and warehouse environment.
