Medical Assistant

Outpatient Main Campus - Full time

Monday-Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm and Friday 10:00am-4:00pm

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Takes patient temperatures, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and weight.
• Observes, monitors, and documents patient's response to treatment.
• Communicates accurate and relevant information to other members of the treatment team.
• Completes prior authorizations.
• Completes appeal letters.
• Completes all refill requests through the electronic medical record.
• Handles calls regarding medications, pharmacies, insurance, schools, etc.
• Orders labs or other medical records as needed.
• Completes all forms as needed for physicians, FMLA, outside organizations, etc.
• Utilizes tracking system for lab work, EKGs, consults, etc. QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school graduate. Associate's Degree in a social science preferred.
  • Ability to learn and utilize electronic medical records.
  • Must have command of the English language.
  • Must demonstrate good phone etiquette and customer service skills.
    
    Salary based on qualifications.
