Job Description:

We are looking for an Assistant Plant Manager, 2nd Shift in our Point of Rocks, MD location. Position schedule:2nd Shift 4:00 PM - 1:30 AM Monday-Thursday and 3:00 PM- 11:30PM Friday.Occasional weekend availability may be needed. Training will be 1st Shift, then transition to 2nd Shift. JOB SUMMARY: As Assistant Plant Manager, you own the achievement of our goals and champion our plant culture and vision on your shift through the leadership and development of your team. You are responsible for delivering the safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people objectives through the execution of effective communication, LEAN manufacturing tools, and employee engagement. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Ensure the safety of your team by setting the example and by maintaining high standards for shop cleanliness, organization, work practices, observations, and corrective actions. Take ownership to consistently coach best behaviors and partner with the safety team to maintain up to date compliance training and adherence to our safety policiesLeverage our KPI's to identify shortfalls, problem solve, and lead short-term actions to improve, working cross-functionally with other plant departments as required to achieve results. Escalate recurring issues to plant leadership for longer term problem solvingProvide hands-on leadership to your team in meeting daily KPI's through effective planning, problem solving, prioritization, and executionMeet long term organizational goals by establishing and maintaining a cross-functional staffing and training plan for your shop team, providing regular feedback and coaching to your direct reports, including developmental plans, and meeting your own developmental goals that you establish with the Plant ManagerDevelop and maintain employee morale and motivation on your team through timely communication, team cohesiveness, and effective employee relations and coaching. Partner with leadership and HR to administer our team celebrations on your shift to make people feel rewarded and recognized for their contributions. When necessary, work with HR and plant leadership to resolve grievances or employee relations issuesImplement LEAN manufacturing initiatives under the guidance of the Plant Manager in line with our overall plant improvement strategyPerform administrative activities necessary for the effective management of your team, including pay administration, budget administration, compiling production data, analyzing trends, and completing reportsDevelop understanding of the end-to-end production process in order to effectively manage daily operations, drive continuous improvement, develop and ensure standard operating practices, and provide overall strategic guidance to your direct teamCarry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable lawsMaintain a positive work environment by behaving and communicating effectively with customers, co-workers, clients, and direct reportsOther duties as assigned by Plant LeadershipREQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, or other related field preferred, Prior experience considered in lieu of education3+ years supervisory experience in Manufacturing, industrial preferredEffective written and verbal communication skillsExperience with Microsoft Office Suite and other manufacturing software applicationsWorking knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing PrinciplesDemonstrated willingness and ability to lead changePDN-990b1625-f344-4087-9519-6cd493eafef6
