What You Will Do:
The Financial Management (FM) IT Portfolio managing consultant
helps to intake, triage, prioritize, and oversee execution to meet
the client's requirements. Our team supports the customer's mission
to enhance and implement policies and processes to improve,
standardize, and simply the business and systems environment to be
more capable and cost-effective, including developing performance
metrics for and monitoring compliance with applicable regulations.
The work environment is fast-paced with rapidly evolving priorities
and requirements due to the client's office being more recently
formed and settling into a steady state.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Perform day-to-day oversight and program management of the
team's performance and support to the client.
- Maintain, update, and prioritize tasks for the team, including
re-prioritizing based on emerging or time-sensitive requirements
and serving as the central intake point for the client to
communicate requirements, taskers, assignments, and
instruction.
- Monitor the team's progress and productivity, provide guidance
as necessary, and anticipate, identify, and remove hurdles as they
emerge as well as enable the team to do so themselves
- Provide regular status updates to the client on progress,
hurdles, emerging issues and opportunities. As necessary, represent
the program and program's equities in stakeholder engagements,
meetings, and discussions. As necessary, present to or brief
stakeholders, senior leadership, and others on the status of the
program's activities.
- Draft white papers, presentations, narratives, strategic
communications, etc. for senior leadership.
- Provide meeting support, including briefing preparation and
stakeholder outreach.What You Will Need:
- An ACTIVE and CURRENT SECRET federal security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in a field related to the tasking
- Minimum of 5 years of consulting experience supporting
customers in the Department of Defense in the area of federal
financial management
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience leading teams and
program/project management, including assigning and prioritizing
tasks and performing quality review over work products
- Demonstrated experience in developing and documenting
recommendations for the government's consideration, and taking
approved recommendations to build implementation plans and
timelines
- Demonstrate ability to work independently and identify and
resolve issues as they arise
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering briefings to
executive leadership audiences, including creating narratives,
talking points, and graphics from a range of information
sources
- Experience in creating white papers, position papers, guidance,
and/or strategic communication documents What Would Be Nice To
Have:
- Ability to shift tasks quickly to align with emerging
priorities and meet short-fused deadlines
- Experience implementing, executing, and/or testing internal
controls required by FFMIA including developing testing and/or
compliance criteria
- Experience in developing responses, communications, reports,
briefings for Congressional interests or stakeholders
- Experience with reviewing or assessing the Standard Financial
Information Systems (SFIS) compliance of financial systems
- Proactive communicator that adjusts messaging depending on
level of audience Possess an interest in proactive problem
solving
