Job Description:
OrthoVirginia, Virginia's largest provider of expert orthopedic

Plans, organizes, and directs the clinical and administrative
functions of the designated offices. Supervises all non-physician
office staff and ancillary personnel. Coordinates activities to
accomplish the goals of the practice and the office. Works with the
management team and office staff to coordinate the functions of
patient care services across the entire practice. Primary Functions
& Accountabilities Engages staff to achieve departmental and
practice goals; prioritizes responsibilities and objectives so
goals may be accomplished. Responsible for the recruiting,
training, and performance management of staff; defines staffing
requirements and selects well-qualified candidates for positions
consistent with position requirements. Demonstrates proper
stewardship of practice finances by ensuring that spending
practices are responsible, affordable, and sustainable. Interacts
with physicians and physician leadership on a professional and
competent level, instilling confidence and trust. Establishes and
maintains credible working relationships, and provides the highest
level of customer service to patients, physicians, outsider
providers/vendors, and internal customers. Sets clear performance
criteria and evaluates staff on a timely basis, taking corrective
action as needed to improve performance deficiencies. Applies
individual knowledge to continually develop and implement best
practice in area of expertise. Coordinates patient care activities
with administrative and clinical staff Assists office staff in
identifying and solving patient care problems Assists in the
development and dissemination of policies and procedures Provides
the COO, physicians, and Accounting Department with practice
statistics and performance data as appropriate Develops and manages
the office budget; Maintains the office revenue cycle Demonstrates
detailed knowledge of the office's financial performance and
regularly updates physicians Applies the principles of personnel
management to enhance organizational functions Develops programs to
assure employee satisfaction and retention Counsels employees and
performs disciplinary action when appropriate and completes
documentation according to policy Controls time and attendance;
reviews and approves payroll; and addresses staffing needs Makes
recommendations to COO for employment actions; conducts timely
annual performance evaluations and competencies on all personnel;
Maintains personnel files according to policy Supervises staff in
reducing error rates to avoid billing problems; coordinates
schedules, vacations, and sick leave coverage Assures staff are
collecting referrals, precerting procedures, and validating
insurance coverage Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent oral and
written communication skills Excellent organizational and time
management skills Ability to independently make decisions and solve
problems immediately Ability to work with all levels of personnel
and patients Demonstrated skill in dealing with interpersonal
issues and employee/customer relations. Ability to maintain
confidentiality of patient and employee information. Knowledge of
basic office equipment, Microsoft Office, and practice management
systems Position Requirements Bachelor's Degree required;
Healthcare Administration preferred 3-5 years progressively
