If you are curious and eager to learn new things, love problem solving, have a deep reverence for risk management and love to have fun at work, this may be the role for you! - -ES Risk Senior Managers lead and influence within a highly collaborative team environment to deliver value-added risk services to our business partners. - You will partner across Enterprise Services, with peers and senior leaders across the first, second, and third lines of defense, as well as lines of business to drive change in order to better manage the Company's risk in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded. - The candidate will be a highly-motivated risk management professional with excellent analytical, planning, collaboration, and communication skills. These skills allow the Senior Manager to gain insights, and act as a change agent to influence their business partners to take actions to protect the enterprise and its customers. A successful risk manager operates from a foundation of knowledge about the subject matter with which they are working, laws, regulations, processes and associated controls, and good risk management practices. They are forward thinking, quick to adapt, team players, and technologically adept. -The Enterprise Products and Platforms Experience Senior Manager will have a high level of exposure and have the opportunity to work with executives to create and implement innovative solutions to appropriately manage risks within Enterprise Services. This Senior Manager will lead projects and a team, and therefore leadership skills and project management will be critical. The Senior Manager will be an expert at risk management and process-level assessments, providing insights to drive decision-making and overall risk reduction. -The ideal candidate will be a highly-motivated risk management professional with experience identifying risks and building coalitions to solve root-causes of problems through execution of remediation plans and process improvements. The candidate will be detail-oriented and results focused, and will have a proven record of problem solving and collaborating with others, including direct and indirect leadership positions. The candidate will also be comfortable communicating, briefing, and influencing executives.Tasks and Responsibilities include: -

  • Perform the role of a process management risk advisor and leverage subject matter knowledge and critical thinking to drive value during Process Level Assessments to ultimately improve our processes and reduce risk
  • Lead and design Process Level Assessment engagements from start to finish, coordinating the phases of the assessment with multiple stakeholders
  • Apply expert-level risk management experience and knowledge of processes, risks, controls to build and analyze risk profiles, and scope processes
  • Teach and mentor more junior associates on risk management tradecraft
  • Collaborate with business Process Owners and Accountable Executives to influence results that have a direct impact on the company's bottom line. - -
  • Engage Second-line Risk Managers, including during challenges, to insure rigorous risk management
  • Identify new risks, potential trends, and potential control gaps in Enterprise Services' processes
  • Provide an independent, objective view of the business and/or function control environment, mitigation strategies and emerging risks
  • Provide guidance to the business areas in risk management principles in accordance with Enterprise frameworks
  • Assess and manage key risks associated with new business initiatives and change management activities
  • Maintain awareness of process breakdowns or control deficiencies (Issues) within the business areas
  • Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of existing controls and provide business direction on opportunities for improvement
  • Foster effective partnerships and collaborate with business and risk management partners
  • Participate in risk and other management forums and contribute to continuous improvement of risk and project / program management practices
  • Drive collaboration with cross functional team structures and across various risk programs and business areas. -
  • Execute and participate in diverse projects ranging from Resolution planning to risk remediation.

  • Support interactions with Internal Audit and Regulatory agencies related to our work, as applicable.
  • Manage a team with up to three (3) direct reports, including potential oversight of third party resources. -Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
    • At least 6 years of experience in Process, Program, or Project Management
    • At least 6 years of risk management, compliance, legal, regulatory, or operations experience
    • At least 3 years of People Leadership experience -Preferred Qualifications:
      • 10 + years experience in Process, Program, or Project Management
      • 2 + years of Financial Services industry experience
      • 5 + years of cyber or technical experience

Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.Location is New York City- $188,814 and $222,758 for Sr. Manager, Cyber Risk & AnalysisCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.No agencies please.
