    Summary:The Business Manager will oversee all aspects of developing business opportunities for the company. This position will lead assigned market segments by maintaining and expanding regional relationships with customers and by identifying new client opportunities. Additionally, the Business Manager coordinate and participate in all levels of corporate branding, communication and messaging, and pursing clients and opportunities to develop client relationships to build projects and deliveries.
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Directs and implements the organization's branding and messaging activities.
    • Analyzes target market information to identify and recommend effective marketing approaches.
    • Identifies new market segments that will benefit from company products.
    • Prepares effective advertising campaigns based on market research.
    • Maintains knowledge on emerging products and services.
    • Collaborates with operations managers to develop growth plans for the organization.
    • Maintain relationships with current customers while prospecting new customers, pursue leads and negotiate to close.
    • Understand target markets, including industry, business segments, company contacts and which market strategies can be used to attract new customers.
    • Addresses & remediates customer care matters with a sense of urgency.
    • Meet or exceed Business Development Metrics and report results with accurate, up to date customer and activity details.
    • Participate in marketing events such as trade shows and seminars.
    • Manages contract and bid projects through RFP process.
    • Leads business development process through the entire life cycle, to include creative development of proposal strategies, win themes, structure, approaches, and plans.
    • Forecasts, drafts, implements, and oversees the department's operating BD budget.
    • Contributes to the development and continuous improvement of proposal development resources, processes, tools, and templates.
    • Facilitates the use of various proposal tools, work products, and techniques to direct the proposal team to write a proposal.
    • Leads proposal phases, activities, and milestones.
    • Reviews the operations daily and works with operational leaders to develop a knowledgebase of work being completed, challenges and timelines. Ability to communicate with clients effectively and efficiently on assisting in building relationships and project base.
    • Production level support as needed to include, but not limited to utility research, utility coordination with venders and support of preparing ticket clears and test pit documents. Additional production level support may be introduced as needed.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
      Education and Job Knowledge:
      • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Business Administration preferred.
      • Six (6) to ten (10) years of in all lifecycles of the business development experience
      • Ability to identify, establish and use important customer relationships with senior level officials and program stakeholders.
      • Experience leading large opportunity captures, including: Developing overall win strategy; shaping deals with customers; developing team strategies, and identifying and closing with teammates; understanding pricing and assist in developing winning proposal.
      • Ability to identify key growth areas and develop new business aligned with the company's growth strategy.
      • Knowledge of competitors and ability to model competitor behaviors in the market.
      • Proven experience working with geographically diverse teams; strong coaching and mentoring skills.
      • Proven ability to collaborate within and across organizational boundaries to achieve results through others.
      • Possesses the skills and ability to empower and engage people and instill drive and passion into the organization.
