The VP, Federal Government Sales leads the organization responsible for building and managing our Federal Government sales distribution strategy. This role is responsible for building the channel from the ground up, as this is a new growth strategy for Spectrum Enterprise. In an effort to achieve revenue and customer satisfaction targets, this role will oversee the entire sales process for building new Federal Government agency relationships across our national network footprint. This individual will partner with the senior executive team to continually identify, develop and execute a broad range of strategic initiatives in the Federal Government channel. In addition, the VP, Federal Government Sales will play a lead role in hiring and developing sales leadership and sales representatives, establishing go-to-market strategies (territories, agency assignments, strategic account planning, etc.) and will contribute greatly to the compensation model and product service price points, competitive analysis and product recommendations. The role also owns the channel enablement strategy and management of strategic partner relationships. You report directly to the Group Vice President for goals and guidance.

What you will do:

Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

  • Hire, lead and develop the sales management and sales representatives into a high performing sales channel
  • Manage performance and budgets
  • Establish and execute Federal Government Sales Strategy
  • Develop business plans and program objectives to support revenue commitments
  • Institute best in class account planning, account management, forecasting and reporting processes
  • Provide competitive analysis to ensure that sales strategies and tactics are responsive and effective in the rapidly changing competitive environment
  • Build awareness and encourage focus on the entire suite of product solutions and its value proposition, particularly in our fiber-based network solutions
  • Facilitate, develop and manage sales enablement and training plans to ensure partners are equipped to position products/solutions and compete effectively to meet revenue objectives; ensure awareness and collaboration, minimizing sales conflicts.

    Required keys for success:
  • 10+ Progressive sales experience in the Federal Government vertical, with proven track record leading major/enterprise-level sales professionals
  • 7+ Experience in sales leadership and leading telecommunications technology based organizations with high-volume, face-paced environments requiring teamwork, flexibility and change management
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understanding English
  • Performance-driven, focused leadership attitude
  • Outstanding verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Strong collaborator capable of building and managing strong working relationships across organizational boundaries
  • Proven track record of achieving/exceeding sales quotas in a highly competitive Federal Government sales environment
  • Successful demonstration of strategic planning skills associated with sales organizations
  • Proven track record in budgeting and resource management
  • Strong organization development track record
  • Technically adept, experienced with Network and Managed Services
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, make decisions and work efficiently and effectively under deadlines
  • Strong financial/analytical skills are needed, as is experience developing and presenting business plans
  • Ability to lead large change initiatives
