service and action 7. Character building We are seeking a new Art
Teacher to join our team. Your role will be to facilitate
innovative learning through interest-based project teaching and
learning, lead our growing team of dedicated students' success, and
promote teacher retention and loyalty. As a member of the Art
department, you will work with other teachers and report to our Art
Department Chair. What You Will Do: Encourage students to be
self-directed entrepreneurial learners Apply teaching practices
that are grounded in the real world Foster Interdisciplinary
learning, teaching, and instruction Build and maintain
relationships with teachers and key personnel within our school
community Conduct regular teaching reviews to ensure teachers are
satisfied with their teaching and identify upsell/cross-sell
opportunities Escalate and resolve areas of concern as raised by
clients Job description The Art Teacher is a member of the Art
Academic Team and will be responsible for the organization and
implementation of the Arts program. The teacher will work alongside
other team members to fulfill the school's vision for related
aspects of the school's curriculum and ensure that changing social
and cultural factors affecting the school's community are reflected
in the policies and programs of the delegated area(s) of
responsibility. The Art teacher also fosters a link between
language and creativity, whilst making positive relationships
between the school and all sectors of its community. Duties and
Responsibilities The following is a list of typical duties for this
position; employees may not perform all the listed duties and/or
may be required to perform additional or different duties from
those set forth below: Teach middle school and high school content,
craft, and concepts in art, including drawing, painting, sculpting,
and art history. Provide instruction by which students develop
aesthetic appreciations and the ability to make qualitative
judgments about art. Demonstrate techniques in most art forms and
media. Understand the versatility of ceramics, watercolor, and
acrylic paints. Be familiar with a variety of "masters" techniques
and art movements. Knows and can apply elements of design and
modern principles of art. Provide differentiating teaching
strategies to small groups to adapt the curriculum to the needs of
students with varying intellectual, intercultural, and artistic
abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional
activities. Instruct students in proper care and use of tools and
equipment. Organize storage areas and control use of materials,
equipment, and tools to prevent loss or abuse, and to minimize time
required for distribution and collection. Evaluate each student's
performance and growth in knowledge and aesthetic understandings
and prepare progress reports. Plan and present art displays and
exhibitions designed to exhibit students' work for the school and
the community. Plan fieldtrips to exhibits outside the school.
Maintain professional competence through in-service education
activities and attend professional developments workshops provided
by the school and/or in self-selected professional growth
activities. Communicate with parents and school counselors on
students' progress. Participate in curriculum and other
developmental programs, such as after school art club.
Collaboration with the whole Team. Using positive behavior
management techniques; with consistently positive attitude
enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, respect, and self-control.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Administration.
