Then we are looking for you!Akima is looking for a seasoned Senior Compensation Specialist to work closely with the Sr Director, Compensation to support the delivery of Akima's compensation programs to include base pay, incentive pay, and performance management.Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve hiring requisitions to ensure accuracy and compliance with all laws and regulations in the Applicant Tracking System
  • Assist in the analysis, design, and administration of Akima's compensation programs to include base pay, incentive pay, and performance management programs.
  • Evaluate jobs to determine FLSA, title, pay grade and appropriate salary
  • Participate in gathering and analyzing data to complete compensation surveys
  • Review and approve requests for pay adjustments and bonuses in the Employee Research Center
  • Gather data to analyze geographic location updates annually
  • Referral bonus processing/tracking
  • Sign-on bonus processing/tracking
  • Review and approve Supplemental compensation requests
  • Support proposal efforts by working with Pricing Team to provide job mapping and internal and external compensation data
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions ensuring appropriate alignment with the organization's goals, structure and federal and state laws
  • Support audit deliverables related to compensation payments
  • Assist with the administration of the company performance management tool
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments including finance, legal, contracts, subcontracts, business development, etc---.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws regarding compensationQualificationsIn accordance with President Biden's Executive Order 14042, you must be able to meet all health requirements, including but not limited to, current and future vaccination requirements to infectious diseases such as COVID-19. The Executive Order generally requires that all federal workers and federal contractor employees be fully vaccinated by December 8, 2021.
    • B.S. / B.A. degree in Business or related field and 4+ years of direct experience in Compensation
    • Compensation experience in Government contracting
    • Experience with administering, designing, implementing compensation programs
    • Strong analytical and project management skill
    • Service Contract Act, Union, and DBA knowledge
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Excellent communications skills (verbal/written)
    • Intermediate to Advanced excel skills
    • Excellent judgment, critical thinking and decision-making skills
    • Ability to produce accurate and error free work product
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
    • Ability to adapt to rapid change
    • Ability to handle stress and conflict well
